Clearvac Engineering Asia offers descaling services to ensure that the filtration, desalination, storage, distribution, and monitoring of freshwater comply with environmental regulations. We also provide water testing and Super Chlorination services.
Water quality plays a crucial role in vessel maintenance, yet it often receives inadequate attention within the marine industry.
Achieving high-quality freshwater is essential, not only to ensure the health and safety of all onboard but also to optimise the performance of the vessel’s systems.
Water quality is vital for a secure and pleasant journey, influencing various aspects from drinking and culinary activities to bathing and sanitation. Moreover, water quality significantly influences the performance of the vessel’s equipment and devices. Guaranteeing that the water onboard meets high standards not only ensures comfort but is also essential for safety and effectiveness.
Adhering to WHO standards is essential. These globally recognised benchmarks guarantee that water quality satisfies precise safety and health requirements. Port authorities frequently mandate compliance and are indispensable for acquiring essential certifications, such as a ship’s Certificate of Sanitation. Conforming to these standards demonstrates a commitment to quality and safety, which are vital in today’s global yachting sector.
The vessel’s water system, comprising storage tanks, pumps, filters, and pipelines, demands diligent oversight and upkeep. A comprehensive understanding of the interplay of these elements is essential for upholding water quality.
Routine inspections and periodic water assessments are crucial for promptly identifying and addressing any potential concerns.
In the case of superyachts, given their extensive scale and varied water requirements, sophisticated water treatment systems are commonplace. These systems manage substantial volumes of water for diverse applications, and ensuring consistently clean water quality and adherence to global standards is essential.
Dissolved forms of lime and other salts are present in almost all water, and limescale is the main cause of hard water. The precipitation and crystallisation of minerals occur based on the amount of lime or calcium carbonate, the concentration of dissolved carbonic acid, and the water temperature, resulting in deposits on surfaces. These deposits reduce heat transfer in exchangers and can significantly lower the efficiency of heating installations and cooling systems.
Pressure loss and decreased flow rates are also symptoms of limescale in a water boiler. Accumulated calcium in pipes and plumbing fittings can lead to clogs, rendering them partially or completely dysfunctional. If the water has a high mineral content, calcium deposits can accumulate in and around the pipes and plumbing fittings within a month. Therefore, the importance of regularly cleaning plumbing fittings and other pipes cannot be overstated.
Clearvac’s freshwater services ensure all accumulated minerals and contaminants are eliminated. Our services are available to most vessel types in Thailand.
We ensure the delivery of clean, uncontaminated water to all facilities.

We provide rigorous lab testing of vessel drinking water to determine the safety and quality of all freshwater aboard your vessel.
