Teak Decking Construction and Installation

Our project managers work closely with you to ensure your decks complement your vessel and provide the right atmosphere and style. With extensive experience of superyacht refits, we ensure all our teak decking projects meet the highest quality, aesthetic, and durability requirements.

• Teak Deck Sanding:
  

  Water needs to be free to flow off the deck. Teak Decks, like any other material, naturally decay with time. This lifts the caulking lines away from the deck while also highlighting the wood grain, allowing the water to permeate the deck, causing corrosion, rust, and unequally expansion. Regularly sanding the decks ensures the water can easily flow, reducing the necessity for harsh cleaning.
  
  We recommend gently sanding Teak Decks once every 18 to 24 months.
  
  

• Reseaming:
  

  All caulking materials will weather with time. This allows water to seep into the subdeck, causing severe maintenance issues. Wood, metal, and fiberglass have different reactions to moisture. We specialise in removing and replacing caulking to ensure the Teak Deck seal.

• Seam Repairs:

  The seams of the decks allow them to expand and compress. They may split from the board for natural reasons or incorrect installation, allowing moisture to enter. We recommend replacing all failed seams immediately after sanding as a precautionary measure.
  
  

• Plank Replacements:

  Planks may experience natural failures, deck hardware removal, vessel additions, or crewmember mishaps requiring replacement.
  
  

• Step Fabrication:
  

  Because steps are in high-traffic zones, they will require more frequent replacement. They are also more delicate to build; and we excel in removing, constructing, and installing new teak stairs.
